Dr. David Tapke received his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where he graduated with cum laude honors. Before medical school, he developed an interest in public health after working as an AmeriCorps volunteer performing asthma education in the South Bronx of New York City. He attended Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine where he participated in a dual degree program to simultaneous earn his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees.
Dr. Tapke stayed in Chicago for a pediatrics residency at Rush University Medical Center before entering a combined adult and pediatric fellowship in allergy and immunology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Tapke is proud to practice as a third-generation allergist/immunologist at Cincinnati Allergy & Asthma Center. He remains committed to the practice of evidence-based medicine with an emphasis on patient-centered care and shared decision making. He is proud to have been named to the 2021 Cincinnati Magazine’s Top Doctors list.
Dr. Tapke lives in Hyde Park with his wife and three children. His personal interests include music, cooking and travel.
