Julie Ossege, CFNP, PHD

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner

Julie Ossege has been a family nurse practitioner since 1989. She received her RN diploma in 1982 from the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing, BSN from the College of Mt. St. Joseph in 1986, MSN in 1989 and PhD in Nursing Science in 1993 from the University of South Carolina. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Prior practice experience includes 14 years in primary care as well as retail health, homeless clinics, and a horse racing backtrack clinic.

Dr. Ossege also teaches full time at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing where she is a tenured Associate Professor. She teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program in the Family Nurse Practitioner track. Julie currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Nurses Association. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and was elected a Fellow in 2018. In 2017, Julie was inducted into the National Academics of Practice as Distinguished Fellow – Practitioner. 

Julie grew up on the West side of Cincinnati and has lived in northern Kentucky for over twenty years. In her free time, she enjoys hiking the northern Kentucky hills with her retired greyhound, yard work, birdwatching and spending time with family and friends.
